Greetings, everyone!
I am Dr. Thien-Kim Dieu, and I am your friendly psychology instructor. I started teaching at PVC in the spring of 2022. My experiences revolve around Asian American mental health needs and effective school-based interventions, Asian American perceptions and interpretations of disability, special education access, inclusive educational practices, autism, mental health awareness, disability rights, humane psycho-educational assessment procedures, and collaborative family approaches in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). I love learning and teaching! I believe students are not only taking my courses to learn about the concept, but they are also teaching me how the concepts are applied in their daily lives as well as teach me how to be a better instructor. Beyond the educational setting, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, reading books, writing poetry, doing DIY projects, and gift-giving. Notably, I love spending time with my family, which consist of my spouse, two black cats (Kiki and Kiko), my mother, and mother-in-law. I look forward to learning and teaching with you, in class!
