C-ID (Course Identification Numbering System)

The C-ID numbering system allows four-year institutions to make articulation decisions based on the C-ID number rather than the course outlines.  Faculty discipline groups include CC, UC and CSU faculty who develop descriptors that include the minimum content for the course.   Colleges then submit course outlines that are reviewed by faculty evaluators against the C-ID descriptors.  Each C-ID number identifies a lower division transfer course that is commonly articulated with the universities.

For lab courses, you'll need to add a lab manual on the COR.  For GE Science courses, the Scientific Method is emphasized.

All core courses on an ADT will need C-ID approval.

From the May, 2019 C-ID newsletter:

”C-ID would like to remind California Community Colleges that any substantial change to a Course Outline of Record (COR), requires resubmission of that COR to C-ID.  CORs must be resubmitted when a significant local change (course content, course objectives/SLOs, Prerequisite(s); co-requisite(s), a unit change to less than the descriptor unit minimum is made.”
