Description:
The Associate of Arts in Communication Studies for Transfer provides students with course options in communications, and social sciences as part of their lower-division preparation for a major in Communications at a four-year institution. Students will acquire the essential foundation and skills necessary to pursue advanced degrees in Communication and to pursue a variety of careers requiring strong skills in communication and verbal expression. 

Career Info:
Students are introduced to many aspects of communication including public speaking, interpersonal, intercultural, group and mass communication, as well as persuasion, argumentation and debate. Possible careers include graduate specializations, teaching, broadcasting, journalism, sales, public relations, law, politics, advertising, marketing and business.  Here's some future career possibilities from the CA Career Zone.

  1. Apply through CCC Apply.   CCC Apply is the way potential students across CA apply to a community college! 
  2. Take the orientation online (see Student Planning video below) and bring it with you when you meet with a counselor (Step 3).   
  3. Meet with a counselor (virtual or in-person).  Please call for an appointment, 760-921-5500
  4. Apply for Financial Aid.   Please call 760-921-5553 to speak with a representative in the financial aid department if you need help filling out the online form. 
  5. Register for classes.   (Videos and printable guides are located below).
