Description:  
Kinesiology is the study of movement as it relates to physical activity, health, disease prevention, exercise and sport. Kinesiology Majors are grounded in an interdisciplinary body of knowledge which encompasses the biological, psychological, physical, and social sciences. They use this knowledge to understand how the human body responds to movement, exercise, exercise training and overall fitness. Kinesiology majors can find employment in health care, coaching, sports officiating and athletic training. Public schools also recruit kinesiologists for their physical education departments or programs. Lastly, a baccalaureate degree in Kinesiology can also lead to advanced degrees in Physical Therapy, Occupation Therapy or Medical School.  

Career Info:
Kinesiology is the study of the movement of the human body, and includes courses in sports, fitness, human anatomy and physiology. Kinesiology may include aquatics, combative, team sports, individual sports, fitness and dance, as well as other relevant sciences. Possible careers include athletic training and coaching, health and fitness businesses, physical education and therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation.   1. Apply through CCC Apply.   CCC Apply is the way potential students across CA apply to a community college! 
  2. Take the orientation online (see Student Planning video below) and bring it with you when you meet with a counselor (Step 3).   
  3. Meet with a counselor (virtual or in-person).  Please call for an appointment, 760-921-5500
  4. Apply for Financial Aid.   Please call 760-921-5553 to speak with a representative in the financial aid department if you need help filling out the online form. 
  5. Register for classes.   (Videos and printable guides are located below).
