Description:
The Associate of Arts in Sociology for Transfer introduces students to the sociological principles and methodologies used in the study of society and behaviors.  Students will acquire the essential foundation and skills necessary to pursue advanced degrees in Sociology, and a wide variety of occupational specializations in the field.  

Career Info:
Sociology is the study of the relationships among individuals, societies and the world, examining shared cultural beliefs and the roles that race, class, gender and ethnicity play with regard to privilege, inequality and crime. Possible careers include education, publishing, corrections, human resources, social work and urban planning.  Here's some future career possibilities from the CA Career Zone.

  1. Apply through CCC Apply.   CCC Apply is the way potential students across CA apply to a community college! 
  2. Take the orientation online (see Student Planning video below) and bring it with you when you meet with a counselor (Step 3).   
  3. Meet with a counselor (virtual or in-person).  Please call for an appointment, 760-921-5500
  4. Apply for Financial Aid.   Please call 760-921-5553 to speak with a representative in the financial aid department if you need help filling out the online form. 
  5. Register for classes.   (Videos and printable guides are located below).
